The Virginia Creeper Trail
An old railroad line turned biking and hiking trail.  This unpaved trail is 34 miles long beginning in Abingdon, VA and going all the way to the North Carolina state line.  At the summit is White Top Station.  Along the trail you'll see creeks, a lake inlet, multiple tresses, wildlife, and beauty galore.

Downtown Damascus
This cute trail town has multiple bike rental shops with shuttles, restaurants, coffee shop, breweries, and shopping. Plus the town park has a playground for kids!

Mount Rogers National

Recreation Area

 

Visit the ever popular wild ponies with a hike at Mount Rogers.  It's about a 40 minute drive to the parking area and varying hike lengths to see the ponies.

Appalachian Trail

 

Damascus is a true Trail Town.  With shops catering to trail hikers and lodging to suit every need and budget.  The Appalachian Trail intersects with the Virginia Creeper Trail in Damascus.  This trail goes from Georgia all the way to Maine crossing the Appalachian Mountains.

Hometown brews on the trail!  Go and sample all the varieties they have to offer! They make 60 different kinds of beers and rotate then on their 8 taps.

The Barter Theatre
